Overview
Street Cats Club is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on community-based trap-neuter-return (TNR), foster care, and animal welfare advocacy in Emporia, Kansas. I founded the organization in 2019 and built it from the ground up—serving as Executive Director, brand architect, and communications lead.
The Challenge
Emporia faced a growing stray and feral cat population with limited resources, fragmented public understanding, and little coordinated support. Street Cats Club needed:
-
A bold, recognizable brand that could build trust quickly
-
Clear, educational messaging around TNR and humane solutions
-
Fundraising infrastructure to support medical care and spay/neuter services
-
Community engagement in a sometimes emotionally charged space
My Role & Approach
As Founder and Executive Director, I provided strategic oversight across:
-
Organizational branding and voice
-
Website design and content
-
Social media and community engagement
-
Fundraising campaigns and events
-
Media relations and advocacy messaging
I intentionally built a brand that was compassionate, accessible, and a little bold—meeting people where they were while challenging misconceptions around animal welfare.
